Course Outline
This one-day course is aimed at band 2-7 clinical staff with patient contact. The course aims to enhance knowledge, confidence and clinical skills for front line staff who are interested in developing their communication skills.
It is suitable for clinicians wanting an opportunity to explore effective de-escalation techniques and rehearse / discuss models of conflict and conflict resolution. The course will refer to policy and procedure relating to some common areas of agitation / aggravation.
Participants will be involved in a series of simulated scenarios using actors as simulated patients. Debriefing models are employed to give feedback to participants on their contribution and assist them to learn positively and constructively from the experience.
