This one-day interprofessional course is suitable for a range of clinicians required to attend Mental Health Tribunals (MHTs). This includes: doctors, care coordinators and in-patient nursing staff but is not limited to these groups. Participants will be given preparatory information beforehand ready to write a short report on the day of the course. Participants will then be required to present their reports to a simulated MHT containing real life tribunal members, legal representatives and actors (playing the part of patients and carers). The course will help address many of the common issues and challenges that arise. A simulation training debrief model is used to assist participants to learn positively and constructively from the experience.
