Course Outline
This one-day interprofessional course is suitable for clinical psychologists, psychotherapists and counsellors who want to explore some of the key challenges of therapeutic work. It focuses on therapeutic alliance ruptures and how to address them, across different therapeutic modalities.
The course will introduce background research and useful conceptual frameworks on alliance ruptures. It will then allow participants to be involved in a series of simulated scenarios using trained actors. It will use a structured debrief model to assist participants to learn constructively from the experience. It aims to facilitate reflective practice in psychology through shared experiential learning, particularly by exploring situations of therapeutic alliance rupture.

• Enhanced confidence and skills in responding to alliance ruptures
