Anticipating Behaviour that Challenges - Older Adult
SIMULATION TRAINING
This one-day inter-professional course is aimed at the range of professionals who are involved in the care of older adult patients within the acute hospital setting including doctors, nurses, foundation doctors, PLNs, psychiatry doctors, security personnel. It will allow participants to take part in a number of simulated scenarios focusing on the assessment and management of older adult patients with physical and mental health co-morbidity within a general medical setting.

Course Outline
This one-day inter-professional course is aimed at the range of professionals who are involved in the care of older adult patients within the acute hospital setting including doctors, nurses, foundation doctors, PLNs, psychiatry doctors, security personnel. It will allow participants to take part in a number of simulated scenarios focusing on the assessment and management of older adult patients with physical and mental health co-morbidity within a general medical setting.
The course aims to build upon participants’ skills and confidence in the recognition, assessment and management physical and mental health co-morbidities within the older adult population. Scenarios will be focusing on areas such as dementia, agitated behaviour, delirium and the use of the mental capacity act. The course also aims to foster collaborative working within and between teams. It will use simulation debrief models to allow participants to learn positively and constructively from their experience.
