Job description

Maudsley Simulation has several exciting Medical Education Fellowship posts - available from August 2017 for 12 months.

We seek several excellent ST4-7s in any speciality of psychiatry to join our innovative, energetic and award-winning team where you will learn how to design, develop, deliver, market, assess and research around simulation. We aim to give you an unrivalled educational experience!

We have a number of focuses for new course development including as part of the increasingly important Mind and Body agenda. We are also currently working with clinical services in General Adult Psychiatry, CAMHS, Older Adults, Liaison, LD, Addictions and Community services as well as many colleagues in acute trust settings of the ED and acute medical environments. We have also partnered with non-health bodies to develop courses including the Metropolitan Police and London Ambulance Service. We are ambitious about where our courses focusing on mental health can add significant value to the safety and quality of services.

Simulation training is being increasingly used as a method for the delivery of high quality, immersive, experiential training. Madusley Simulation has been at the forefront of the use of simulation training in mental health settings both in the UK and internationally and we are now part of simulation networks locally in south London and mental health simulation globally. In the last two years we have designed, developed and delivered 37 new day-long courses; have brought through over 2500 staff on them and have assessed, researched and published around a variety of them.
